Getting Married in Poole, Dorset

I was born and raised in Poole and spent many glorious days, afternoons and evenings enjoying the beauty of the harbour, the historical charm of the Old Town and the glory of the nature throughout. But, the beauty about getting married in Poole is that you don't have to rely entirely on the weather.

In close proximity to the Registry Office, The Guildhall (pictured above). You have everything you will need right on your doorstep!

The last wedding I shot in Poole was on a wet January afternoon, and when the heavens opened, the wedding party laughed and huddled together under umbrellas. It definitely, did not nor could not dampen their spirits!

Before the ceremony, I met the wedding party at The Angel pub, directly opposite The Guildhall, who were happily warming up the ceremonials. Not only is The Angel pub geographically perfect, but it has been a thoroughly enjoyed drinking spot since 1761. They have a lovely beer garden and views of The Guildhall and the historical Market Street in the Old Town of Poole.

After a short while, we crossed the road to where the ceremony was being held, at the Registry Office. The light and airy Guildhall is an ideal spot for your legal ceremony, here they provide civil marriage ceremonies, including civil partnerships.

Alternatively, you can request for them to carry out the ceremony at another licensed premise.

Wedding Receptions at Hotel Du Vin, Poole

There are a few options of wedding venues scattered throughout Poole, but none of them are quite as decadent and divine as Hotel Du Vin. This opulent mansion was originally built in 1776, and they have paid particular attention to restoring its' grand features of classical columns and original stone staircases.

In addition to this, they are wine connoisseurs and they even have their own tasting room, The Laroche tasting room. Here you can perfect your choice with their very own Sommelier and your dedicated wedding organiser, who will ensure every detail is noted, turning your dreams into reality.
